CANNES, FRANCE — JUNE 22, 2026 — On the first day of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, Ogilvy won 2 Gold Lions, 5 Silver Lions and 9 Bronze Lions for a total of 16 Lions.
Kotex’s ‘Art’s Missing Period’ by DAVID London and Ogilvy Singapore won a Gold Lion in Health & Wellness, in the OTC Products category. For centuries, art has celebrated blood across canvases and sculptures, often displayed in acts of violence that are never considered too sensitive for viewing, and immortalized in masterpieces. All blood, that is, except menstrual. ‘Art’s Missing Period’ is a documentary created by Kotex to stand up against the invisible stigma that perpetuates censorship around menstruation, forcing into view many art works that have been repeatedly dismissed, rejected and censored. With works dating as far back as 35,000 BCE to contemporary pieces rejected by galleries and removed from public view, Kotex offers a powerful recognition that periods do not hold us back, but hiding them does.
Gen Gransden and Selma Ahmed, Executive Creative Directors, DAVID London: "Exactly one year ago, we opened DAVID London here in Cannes and now, on our first birthday, we get to celebrate with our first Gold Lion for Kotex. We've started with a bang, and this is just the beginning of what we hope to achieve in the years.”
The ‘Blue Brands’ campaign by Ogilvy Shanghai also took home a Gold Lion in Pharma, Branded Product or Service Promotion. This win builds upon the success of ‘Make Love Last,’ which won a Grand Prix in Pharma in 2025.
Fei Wei, Group Executive Creative Director for Ogilvy Shanghai: "Sometimes great work starts with the impossible."
Today also marked a significant milestone as Ogilvy India Chief Creative Officer Kainaz Karmakar took the awards stage. Serving as the Jury President for this year’s Health & Wellness Lions category, Karmakar marks a historic distinction as an Indian woman to hold a Jury President title at Cannes Lions.
