Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte made headlines when he banned his players from eating ketchup, citing it as unhealthy. Mario, CEO of Curtice Brothers ketchup, couldn't stand to see headline after headline of a "ketchup ban" on one of the world's most famous football clubs—especially because not all ketchups are created equally. Ogilvy Germany and Curtice Brothers placed a full-page ad in Tottenham's largest newspaper, featuring a letter from Mario to Conte, urging him to reconsider given Curtice Brothers ketchup is all natural. Soon, the letter made as many headlines as the initial ban and resulted in some of the largest sales the brand has ever seen.
