Dr. Stephan Vogel
Chief Creative Officer, Ogilvy Germany, O&M EMEA
Dr. Stephan Vogel (b. 1963) is CCO of Ogilvy Germany. Vogel has held this role since August 2017. He is also the Chief Creative Officer for Ogilvy & Mather EMEA, responsible for more than 50 locations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He joined Ogilvy in Frankfurt as a copywriter in 1997 and has been a member of the Worldwide Creative Council, the top creative board of Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, since 2011. Since 2009 he has led the creative teams as Chief Creative Officer across the German offices in Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Berlin.
A member of ADC, he joined the ADC executive committee in 2008 and was voted President in November 2012. As ADC President, Vogel initiated the ADC creative ranking and the GWA effectiveness ranking in 2012 in conjunction with the GWA. He has sat on the juries of several award shows, including Cannes Lions, D&AD, Clio, LIAA, New York Festivals, ADC, ADC of Europe, Epica and The One Show. He has won dozens of international awards, including accolades from D&AD, LIAA, Clio and The One Show—and in Cannes alone, more than 60 lions.
Vogel completed his doctorate in Mannheim and Munich which included a scholarship from the Academic Foundation for Gifted German students. His fields of study included psychology and scientific theory. He has published books on envy as well as another entitled, “The Psychology of Emotion: Laying the Groundwork for an Exact Science of Emotions.”
