Ogilvy Triumphs with 91 Lions by Day Four of the 2017 Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity

– DAVID Miami wins Grand Prix for ‘Google Home of the Whopper’ –

Cannes, France. 20 June 2017. – On the fourth day of the 2017 Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, Ogilvy has won a total of 91 Lions so far including: 2 Grand Prix, 19 Gold, 24 Silver and 46 Bronze.

DAVID has won a second Grand Prix, this time in the Direct category for its ‘Google Home of the Whopper’ campaign for Burger King. This adds to yesterday’s Grand Prix win in the Print & Publishing category. DAVID’s awards haul for today stands at 2 Gold, 4 Silver and 4 Bronze for two outstanding campaigns (‘Google Home of the Whopper’ and ‘We Are Parilli’).

Ogilvy Singapore’s Silver Lion award for ‘Hollywood Rejects’ for Alliance Francians De Singapour also follows a previous win for the campaign – a Gold in the PR category. The online short films saw Hollywood industry leaders being duped into rejecting a French film that’s already a success. ‘Hollywood Rejects’ was part of an effort to promote French cinema to audiences in Singapore, and to highlight its commitment to non-commercial themes and plots.

Ogilvy Australia’s ‘AAMI Smart Plates” for AAMI/Suncorp also scooped 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze in Creative Data and 1 Bronze in the Mobile category. The innovative app from the Australian insurer gave young learner drivers an alternative to the traditional logbook. The app tracks learning progress in real time and pinpoints skills that needed finessing. The app was a forward thinking response to statistics that showed that young Australian drivers are most at risk of being involved in an accident, coupled with most millennials’ reliance on technology to manage their everyday lives.

Tham Khai Meng, Worldwide Co-Chairman and Chief Creative Officer at Ogilvy, said: “It’s a privilege to have clients who believe in what you do. These awards are dedicated to them and to our resilient and gifted teams. Two days, two Grand Prix. It is a very special achievement for our friends at DAVID.”

Another highlight from day four of the 64th Festival of Creativity were Memac Ogilvy adding a Silver in the Innovation category to yesterday’s Gold Lion in PR for ‘Potatoes on Mars’.
