Ogilvy in the Community

Ogilvy’s support of our local communities extends deep within the fabric of our extended neighborhoods. Here are some of the programs we have in place:

Future Marketers Program
In partnership with PENCIL (Public Education Needs Civic Involvement in Learning), Ogilvy launched a program in 2002 to introduce 6th graders from Public School 123 to the world of advertising. The selected students come to Ogilvy every two weeks over a ten-month period to work on a comprehensive marketing program, which culminates in a presentation to a member of the agency's top leadership.

CAPITAL: Corporate Allies Program of Internships, Training, and Leadership
We are participants in this pilot program, with the City of New York, starting Summer 2006. The program provides internships for high-potential high school boys and girls identified from past summers in the city summer work programs. These students are predominantly African American and Hispanic teenagers. We have 4 students interning for 8 weeks across different departments at Ogilvy. Each student is assigned a mentor, who is a junior level account person.

Advertising Futures Program
We participate in this 3-month long program sponsored by Advertising Week in New York, in which advertising agencies are paired with NY High Schools. Ogilvy will work with students at our partner school to brief them on an advertising assignment, develop their campaign and prepare them for the judging which culminates the last week in September during Advertising Week.
