PHILANTHROPIC INITIATIVES
Ogilvy is committed to serving the communities where we live
and work. Year-round, all over the globe, Ogilvy executives and
employees raise money and awareness to numerous social and charitable
causes.
David Ogilvy Foundation - In memory of David
Ogilvy (1911-1999), The Ogilvy Foundation funds educational programs
in advertising and marketing. The Foundation supports programs
globally and currently is supporting a newly established program
for public speaking at Barnard College, a research project at
Cambridge University’s Judge Business School, a course on Pro-Social
Communications at Belgrano University in Buenos Aires and consumer
research at Peking University’s China Center for Economic Research.
Ogilvy New York - Since 2006, the Creative Department
of Ogilvy New York has displayed its artwork at Ogilvy and then
auctioned it off. In 2007, 60 pieces of art brought in more than
$10,000 to benefit Hartley House, a local settlement house in
the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood that works to improve the quality
of life for residents.
Additionally, the annual United Way campaign generated more than
$20,000 in employee donations.
Ogilvy Dominican Republic - Partners Ogilvy
& Mather has donated at least 5% of its annual profits to
several non-profit organizations since the agency opened in 1993.
Some of these organizations include Ebenezar, San Francisco de
Asis (both homes for the elderly) and Bethesda (home for orphans).
Ogilvy Asia Pacific - Soon after the devastating
2004 tsunami in Southeast Asia, Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific
established the Ogilvy Tsunami Relief Fund. Global employee contributions
and matching funds from Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide resulted
in approximately $300,000. Ogilvy-sponsored projects in Indonesia,
Sri Lanka, India and Thailand included:
- Building 28 houses in the Lampoeh village of Indonesia through
Habitat for Humanity
- Working with Helping Hands in Sri Lanka, which helps orphaned
children
- Building 34 boats for a fishing community in Injambakkam, India
- Working with the Carpe Diem Group to build a community center
in Baan Talay Nok, Thailand
