SILVERMAN
Chief Executive Officer, Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide
Marcia, a 20-year veteran of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide,
was most recently Ogilvy PR's first President of the Americas.
Marcia previously headed Ogilvy PR's largest office, in Washington.
Marcia has counseled and provided public relations expertise to
corporations, trade associations and government agencies.
PR Week recognized Marcia's contribution to the industry by profiling
her as one of the 50 Most Powerful Women in PR and as one of the
100 Most Influential PR Professionals in the 20th century. Previously,
she was honored as one of three outstanding women in public relations
by the Washington Women in Public Relations organization. Marcia
also has received a Public Relations Star Award given by Inside
PR, for excellence in public relations.
Prior to joining Ogilvy PR, Marcia was with the public relations
division of J. Walter Thompson in New York. During her tenure
there, she supported a variety of clients, including the National
Consumers Federation of America and several major pharmaceutical
companies. Marcia has also worked for the American Federation
of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), where she was
deputy director of public affairs and later director of women's
activities. Marcia has served on the board of the Women's Campaign
Fund and is on the board of directors of the Mexican American
Legal Defense and Education Fund.
She holds a graduate degree and a bachelor's degree from the
University of Pennsylvania.
