RICK
ROTH
Chief Executive Officer, OgilvyAction
Rick is an Ogilvy veteran who joined the company in 1981 as
an account executive. Today, he sits on its Worldwide Board and
is the CEO of OgilvyAction(http://www.ogilvyaction.com),
the global brand activation and shopper marketing network of the
Ogilvy Group.
With its 50 offices and 1500 people, OgilvyAction
helps clients win in the Last Mile, by creating the kind of brand
experiences which influence how consumers act as they travel a
path to purchase. The company delivers a broad range of services
ranging from experiential, shopper and trade marketing to digital,
field, event and sports marketing.
Before being named CEO of OgilvyAction, Rick served
as President of Ogilvy Los Angeles where he led a turnaround of
that office and its key clients, Mattel and Cisco.
Rick is a co-founder of the Ogilvy Global Brand Community and
was one of the architects of Ogilvy’s worldwide client service
model. His passion for building brands through 360 delivery of
big creative platforms has led to many success stories where great
work traveled across cultures and geographies.
Rick's experience is broad. It ranges from packaged goods, beer,
spirits, toys and personal care to service, business-to-business,
travel, health and beauty categories. He has led a variety of
broad client engagements over the years including Starwood, Glaxo,
Ryder Trucks, Mattel, Chesebrough Ponds, SAB Miller and a broad
portfolio of Kraft Foods brands.
Rick has been key to Ogilvy’s new business growth over the years.
A tribute to the work he leads and the relationships he builds,
virtually all of this new business was brought to Ogilvy without
review.
A native New Yorker, Rick is a Director on the Board of the
Times Square Alliance. He sits on a number of private and industry
advisory boards and judging panels and serves on the steering
committees of the business and communication schools of Ithaca
College.
Above all, Rick is dedicated to his family. He spends most of
his free time with his wife and three kids. He loves most sports,
most music, playing piano, photography, fine wine – and just about
anything to do with a racquet, a paddle, a golf club or the beach.
