Worldwide Client Service Director
Lionel graduated from Oxford University in 1970 with an MA (honours)
in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. He began his career at
Procter and Gamble and moved in 1973 to Mars Confectionery, for
whom he worked in the UK and the USA. In 1977, he joined Leo Burnett
in London and became their Coordination Director for Europe in
1979.
In 1985, Lionel joined Ogilvy & Mather as Worldwide Management
Supervisor on Beecham and in 1990 he became Senior Vice President
for Europe. In 1992, he joined the Unilever account and in 1993
took over as Worldwide Client Service Director on all Unilever
business. He was elected to the Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide
Board in 1994. In addition to heading up the Worldwide Unilever
account, he is also the Board Member responsible for Human Resource
issues.
