Neo@Ogilvy UK Scoops Major European Search Business for Sony BRAVIA

LONDON, September 17, 2009 – Sony Europe’s Television Division, distributors of the highly successful range of BRAVIA LCD TVs, has contracted leading digital agency Neo@Ogilvy UK to manage its paid search activity across Europe.

The win, following a two-week competitive pitch against two other leading search agencies, represents Neo@Ogilvy's second major account win of the year, after the British Airways UK affiliates and media attribution program earlier this year.

The team was led by Richard Wheaton, Neo@Ogilvy UK managing director, and Sophie Collins, agency head of search.  Neo@Ogilvy has launched the search campaigns for the BRAVIA products across 29 European markets in support of the BRAVIA Motionflow campaign across the summer, with the goal of driving sales of BRAVIA’s new LCD televisions.

Christian Luecke, director, Consumer Marketing TV & Online Marketing, Sony, said, “We are delighted to confirm the appointment of Neo@Ogilvy to manage our paid search activity across Europe.  Neo@Ogilvy has demonstrated a real understanding of the needs of our brand and are already getting significant results in support of our search marketing campaigns.  We have identified Search as a key step in the customer journey, from initial consideration and research through to detailed purchasing decisions.  Search is now a central part of our communication mix, and we are committed to investing in it to help our customers find the right BRAVIA TV, and to learn more about their needs and intent through this channel.”

Richard Wheaton said:  “We won based on the understanding we have built up of Sony's needs, from our work with their online shop over the past three years, where we have been delivering direct online sales at increasing levels of efficiency quarter on quarter. Sony’s BRAVIA is a fantastic brand and we are delighted to have this opportunity to work with the team to help drive results. It is a tribute to our Search network in Europe and our ability to deliver branding and ROI driven Search tactics.”
