Ogilvy Guatemala at the Effie Awards

The world's largest advertising and marketing event recognized Guatemala’s most effective campaigns of 2010.

Guatemala, October 2010  - Ogilvy Guatemala was recognized at the sixth annual Effie Awards with three silver Effie Awards:  two for the campaign 'Plansazo' for its client Claro in the Services and Launch category; and one for the campaign "We Are All Builders” for Habitat for Humanity, in the Nonprofit category.

Claro’s ‘Plansazo' campaign focused on innovation and created a new prepaid cell phone offer positively impacting consumers’ perception of “value for money,” also resulting in 180,000 new subscribers, a record, as well as a remarkable migration of customers from other telecom operators to Claro.

The campaign "We Are All Builders” created for Habitat for Humanity Foundation, won a well deserved Silver Effie award. The campaign resulted in a 1,211% increase in donations over the first quarter of 2010.  It also helped to boost solidarity and sensitivity of Guatemalans via their involvement in reconstructing houses for Guatemalan families affected by tropical storm Agatha.

Continuing its historic victory of winning three Cannes Lions Awards and 28 Jade Awards as the most awarded regional network in Festival de Antigua, Ogilvy Guatemala dominated in 2010 as the most noticeable agency of the year, achieving nine short list nominations and winning three Effie Awards at this award show, in which 67 registered campaigns were entered and 19 advertising agencies participated.

President and CEO of Ogilvy Guatemala, Juan Mauricio Wurmser, said:  "Our success in the Effie Awards is recognition of Ogilvy’s joint and coordinated work with our clients, and it demonstrates that the effectiveness of advertising provides critical input to business strategies and corporate businesses in Guatemala."
