Ogilvy & Mather Japan Appoints Aki Kubo as Executive Vice President

TOKYO, November 18, 2011 -- Ogilvy & Mather Japan announced today the plan of appointing Aki Kubo as Executive Vice President of the agency.

Aki KuboIn his new role, which will report to Kent Wertime, Mr. Kubo will be responsible for all facets of management of Ogilvy & Mather Japan across the group of companies that include Ogilvy & Mather Advertising, OgilvyOne, Neo, OgilvyAction, Ogilvy PR, and RedWorks. This will involve the handling of key Ogilvy clients, business development, government and press relations, and financial management of the agency.

Mr. Kubo is a highly experienced and high-profile senior advertising executive who, until recently, held the position of President and CEO of Weber Shandwick Japan. Prior to that, he had nearly a three decade-long career at McCann Erickson in various locations in Japan and overseas, including a recent stint in London managing McCann’s global relationship with Nestle and Hitachi.

Mr. Kubo’s planned appointment will become effective in 2012 after the completion of his contractual obligations with his previous employer. He will be based in Tokyo.
