HONG KONG, May 30, 2012 – Ogilvy Hong Kong was last night named the city’s Agency of the Year for the sixth consecutive year, at Marketing Magazine’s Agency of the Year Awards.
Ogilvy & Mather also scored a golden hat-trick with outright wins in three of the ceremony’s most prestigious categories: O&M Advertising Hong Kong was named Brand Consultancy of the Year; OgilvyOne Worldwide Hong Kong picked up the Direct Marketing Gold Award; and Ogilvy PR Hong Kong took the Gold Award for PR.
OgilvyOne also picked up the silver award in the Digital category, making it a productive night for the one-to-one specialists as they prepare to welcome new Executive Creative Director Peter Riley.
The MARKies awards recognizing excellence in creative ideas, media usage and execution also saw a strong performance from O&M on the night. O&M Advertising secured wins for Best use of TV, Best Idea – Online, and Best Idea – Viral (all for “From Rock to Opera: a Chicken Inspires” for KFC); Magazine Advertising and Best Idea – Newspaper (both for “Through their Eyes” for ORBIS).
Ogilvy PR won the award for Best Idea – Public/Media Relations (for “Madame Tussauds stamps out the competition – immortalizing Hong Kong’s own McDull”).
