LONDON, May 29, 2009 – Dave Birss is joining OgilvyOne London to be the digital head for the direct marketing unit of Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide. Birss was formerly the creative head of Poke London.
Birss will work closely with Colin Nimick, Executive Creative Director, OgilvyOne London. The appointment comes on the heels of restructuring within the agency's creative department that saw Charlie Wilson and Emma de la Fosse both promoted to become joint creative directors.
After leaving Poke, in August 2008, Birss launched Unchained, an online guide to the best independent shops in London. He has also worked as the creative director at MRM Worldwide and as an assistant creative director at the full-service agency Mr. Smith. Dave has worked on several well-known brands, including Orange, HP, Lexus and Foster's.
"Dave is a key appointment, he's one of those rare, truly integrated creatives who can turn his hand to most things, who's won awards and who understands the technical stuff behind the best digital work," says Nimick.
