YMCA of Metropolitan Washington Selects Ogilvy PR as Agency of Record

WASHINGTON, DC, January 13, 2010 – The Washington, DC, office of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide (Ogilvy PR), an integrated global communications firm, announced today that it has been awarded a contract to create a mission-focused branding effort for the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington.

“The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is pleased to join forces with Ogilvy PR on this important campaign,” said Linda Blake, marketing and production director for the YMCA. “Our goal is to create awareness of the Y’s mission, the wellness benefits of joining the Y, and how we build strong minds, bodies and spirits while serving the people in the Washington Metropolitan area.”

The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington has been providing vital programs and services for local adults, children and families for over 150 years. The YMCA is one of the largest social service agencies in Washington, DC. The branding and advertising campaign will unite communications of the 17 branches and program centers in DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia into one cohesive platform that communicates the benefits of the YMCA to the community and its members.

“We are eager to begin this project in conjunction with the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington,” said Robert Mathias, managing director of Ogilvy PR/Washington. “We hope to help the YMCA further its mission to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities through building awareness of all of the programs the YMCA offers to the local community,” he added.
