SINGAPORE, January 7, 2010 – OgilvyOne Singapore announced today the promotion of Thomas Mouritzen to Managing Director of the agency, with immediate effect.
Thomas, most recently the Deputy Managing Director, takes over the reins from Chris Riley, who was elevated to Regional Director, South Asia, OgilvyOne last year. While Chris will continue to play a key role in guiding the Singapore operation as part of his regional remit, Thomas will now oversee the day-to-day operations and growth of the agency. His appointment is part of an aggressive plan that OgilvyOne has in the region for 2010, which it views as a vital year in the industry in Asia. Based in Singapore, Thomas will continue to report to Chris, as well as Stephen Mangham, Group Chairman, Ogilvy & Mather Singapore.
Comments Stephen Mangham, Group Chairman, Ogilvy & Mather Singapore, on Thomas’ promotion: “Thomas has been with OgilvyOne Singapore for more than five years and his in-depth knowledge of the business and vast experience makes him invaluable to us. He has consistently performed, taking the Yahoo! account from small beginnings into a global hub for emerging markets, and forging a closer and more fruitful relationship with the ASEAN IBM client."
Says Chris Riley, Regional Director South Asia OgilvyOne: "I have enjoyed working with Thomas for several years and we are fortunate to be in a position to have such a strong leadership succession in place for clients. He is an outstanding account leader who makes himself indispensable through his strategic counsel and I am confident the Singapore business will continue to develop at pace with him leading it.”
Before joining OgilvyOne Singapore, Thomas was a Strategy and Change Management consultant at Accenture in Denmark. His previous work experience also includes a stint at digital marketing agency Framfab (now known as LBi) as Branch Director, managing its Copenhagen outfit.
