Dirk Eschenbacher named Regional Creative Director for Ogilvy & Mather Advertising

BEIJING, February 22, 2012 – Dirk Eschenbacher returns to Ogilvy as Regional Creative Director for Ogilvy & Mather Advertising based in Beijing, China after five years away.

Former Regional Executive Creative Director for OgilvyOne and TribalDDB Asia Pacific, Eschenbacher took some time off to study at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing where he is researching Chinese creativity, design and visual communications. As his studies draw to a close, Escherbacher felt it was the right time to return to agency life full-time.

“We are delighted to welcome Dirk back into the Ogilvy family. His combination of digital and creative strength will offer an added dimension to the advertising team as we continue to embed digital across the organisation,” said Chris Reitermann, President, Ogilvy & Mather Advertising Asia Pacific.
Eschenbacher brings a wealth of experience on China, design, social, participation, cross media campaigns and creativity to Ogilvy’s advertising unit.

“Today, I’m happy to welcome Dirk into the China creative team. He has deep insights into the Chinese culture, has fantastic ideas and has phenomenal experience in digital campaigns that work. I am looking forward to working closely with Dirk,” said Graham Fink, Chief Creative Officer, Ogilvy & Mather China.

Eschenbacher has been awarded at Cannes, One Show and D&AD. He lectures at Studio 11 at the CAFA’s design faculty, China’s premier art and design academy, is a partner in China’s leading venue for live music Yugong Yishan (www.yugongyishan.com) and loves riding his motorbikes whenever Beijing’s air quality permits.
