[Singapore: February 24, 2011] John ‘JJ’ Jakubowski, AKQA’s Group Creative Director, has been appointed OgilvyOne’s regional executive creative director, effective immediately.
As one of the most decorated Creative Directors in the world, JJ’s trophy cabinet contains an Academy Award (Best Visual Effects), Emmys, Cyber Lions, AD&Ds, GrAndy’s, Addy’s, OneShow, ADC’s, CLIO’s and the winner’s certificate of the San Francisco Poetry Contest. From 2006 – 2010 JJ led the creative direction for Xbox360 and Coca Cola at AKQA’s flagship agency in San Francisco.
JJ’s appointment marks the completion of OgilvyOne's regional management team. The regional team will work with CEO Jerry Smith to implement the network's global focus. Smith was appointed in July last year.
"I am delighted that JJ will be joining our team in Asia-Pacific as we pioneer many of the new challenges of the digital revolution," said Smith. "I am expecting great things from JJ especially in helping develop our creative product beyond CRM to a new era of collaborative and participation marketing where the consumer is helping to define the value of products and brands."
JJ has won over 30 industry awards for creative campaigns and has also worked at Digitas, Modem Media and Paramount.
