Frankfurt, 10 February 2011 – Frank Apel, currently Client Service Director at OgilvyOne in Frankfurt, will be appointed as the head of client services for the newly opened office in Germany’s capital Berlin.
He joins top creatives Tim Stübane and Birgit van den Valentyn to round off the management team. Frank Apel has 17 years of experience as an account handler in agencies such as Springer & Jacoby, Young & Rubicam and Heye & Partner and is able to offer all Ogilvy services, including the new FUSION approach, right from the start. Thomas Strerath, Ogilvy & Mather Germany CEO says: “We are delighted to have found an internal candidate for the role and Frank Apel complements Tim and Birgit well. It is a stroke of luck for the agency. The three of them have already worked very successfully on their first projects together.”
Anke Roell joined the creative team as a Senior Creative at the beginning of January. Anke is Ex-DDB and a long-standing member of van den Valentyn/Stübane’s team. She previously worked for Jung von Matt/Alster and Fleet, Atletico Barcelona and Kolle Rebbe. She works with Johannes Jost, who joins Ogilvy from den Hirschen (and previously Plantage, M&C Saatchi and Philipp und Keuntje). Matthias Bauer joins the team as Junior Creative directly from the Bauhaus Universität Weimar where he was a student of Tim Stübane.
The Berlin office started operations at the beginning of January and is currently involved in a number of pitches. SportScheck, the sports retail brand, is handled out of Berlin. Ogilvy & Mather Berlin is well on its way to offering a full roster of agency services.
