WASHINGTON, DC, February 1, 2010 – Ogilvy Government Relations announced today that it will add two Senior Vice Presidents to its ranks next month. Ogilvy Government Relations is one of Washington’s top bipartisan government relations firms.
Justin Daly will join the firm on February 8th. Daly has served in a number of senior government positions. He has been involved in all aspects of major financial services legislation and enforcement issues for more than a decade. Daly has unique perspective on financial services concerns and is one of the only practitioners to have served as chief securities counsel to both the House Financial Services and Senate Banking Committees. He has served most recently as legal and policy adviser to SEC Commissioner Kathleen Casey.
“Daly adds considerable depth to our financial services practice,” said Ogilvy Government Relations President Gordon Taylor. “Justin’s insights and knowledge will have an immediate impact as our clients attempt to navigate an increasingly aggressive legislative and regulatory environment.”
Starting on February 1st, John O’Neill, former tax counsel to the Senate Finance Committee, will lead the firm’s tax practice. Mr. O’Neill served as Policy Director and Counsel in the Senate Minority Whip's Office under Senator Trent Lott and served on the staff of Senate Finance Committee Chairman Charles Grassley of Iowa. O’Neill is well known for his efforts guiding the Pension Protection Act of 2006 as well as other tax issues. He most recently served as partner in the law firm of Venable LLP.
“We are excited about adding a tax counsel to our practice,” said Taylor. “O’Neill’s expertise and strong Senate experience will bring tremendous value to our clients.”
