Monique da Silva Joins Ogilvy PR Worldwide

NEW YORK, N.Y., February 23, 2010 – Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide (Ogilvy PR), a leading global communications firm, announced today that Monique da Silva has joined the agency as Executive Vice President/Head of North America Healthcare Practice.

Da Silva will be working closely with Cronin to drive the vision and strategy for the North America Healthcare Practice, as well as lead business development, talent management and recruitment for the region. She will play an integral role on key global accounts, and spearhead the expansion of Ogilvy PR’s significant women’s health practice.

Prior to joining Ogilvy PR, da Silva served as Global Healthcare Director at MS&L Worldwide where she partnered with key offices in Europe and Asia to build their healthcare business and capabilities. She has worked with blue chip and emerging pharmaceutical and life sciences companies, including Philips Healthcare, BD, sanofi aventis, Lilly, Columbia Labs, Biogen Idec, Genzyme, Pfizer, Esai, Novo Nordisk, Serono and Roche. In addition to leading award-winning global and national programs in women’s health and medical technology, she has deep experience leveraging traditional and non-traditional channels to reach physicians, hospital-based decision makers, advocacy partners and patients.  She also served in a number of other client and management functions during her 13 year tenure at MS&L.

Da Silva received a bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in Biology from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. She is a member of Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association and  The Boston Club, and serves on the Board of Directors of Children’s Friend, in Salem, Massachusetts, a local non-profit devoted to helping children in need.
