Ogilvy & Mather Partners with NY Times, Atmosphere Proximity to Launch The Big Ad Gig

NEW YORK, NY, August 11, 2009 – Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide Creative Director Tham Khai Meng is set to join a panel of creative directors from Atmosphere Proximity, Crispin, Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness, The Ad Council and Microsoft Advertising for an inaugural event taking place during Advertising Week in New York on September 24th.

Called The Big Ad Gig (www.thebigadgig.com), the event will follow the American Idol format, whereby the panel of judges will critique the presentations of eight contestants – before a live audience during Advertising Week. Top contestants will be awarded gigs based on their portfolio, a video submission and ultimately, their ability to present their pitch from an Ad Council brief.

The stakes are high, as one winning campaign will be produced and run across multiple screens and Microsoft Advertising's media properties including gaming, online and mobile.

"We are delighted to be part of The Big Ad Gig," said Tham Khai Meng. "Participating in this program allows us to support the industry's growth as well as young talent."
