Michael Kutschinski

Chief Creative Officer
OgilvyOne Germany

Change is our lifeblood – digital is my heartbeat.

Michael was born into an advertising agency in 1965. After some years of dreaming of being a Rock Star or Race Car Driver, his mission was clear: Michael wanted to be an Advertising Man.

His first contact with cyber was a Commodore C20 in 1977 inspiring his first digital creative execution – an “X” falling from top left to bottom right on the TV screen – leading his Grandma to question him about the stupid TV Channel.

Michael started his career, or you could say hobby, with in-firm training to be a graphic Designer and a Typographer, and completed his studies in communication design and computer graphic design. After several years of freelancing, Michael started working as an Art Director and Motion Designer in a multimedia Agency in 1991. He has worked for numerous digital pioneering agencies such as Digital World, USWeb / CKS and Pixelpark Hamburg and New York.

In 2001 - after the dot-com boom - Michael went back to the advertising agency world and joined Jung von Matt as Executive Creative Director for the interactive Unit.

In January 2004, Michael joined Ogilvy & Mather, running the creative departments of OgilvyInteractive Germany.

He is member of the German Ogilvy Board. Michael continues to find his inspiration observing and listening to people and their characteristics. He loves new digital gadgets and names himself an early adaptor. Michael has picked up several international gold, silver and bronze awards as well as national Online Agency Of The Year Awards.

And he still loves to rock’n’race.
